I got contacted by the Head of Paralegals about 6 months after applying for the Project Assistant job. Before the interview, they sent me some paperwork to complete. What was weird was that it needed to be notarized, which I only figured out 10 minutes before the interview started. Luckily, they had someone in-house who could do it, so I didn't have to pay for it. I had a talk with the Head of Paralegals, who was nice. She asked some easy questions, like why I was looking for a new job and why I'd be a good fit. These were really generic questions you can find anywhere. It was so funny because she asked the exact same questions I saw on a job-hunting website. After she left, the lead paralegal and another person interviewed me. This part was super awkward because they had no idea what to ask. They kept looking at each other in silence, it was painful. I ended up filling the silence by talking about my qualifications without them asking anything. It was clear they weren't prepared at all. Anyway, I knew I didn't want to work there by that point, and they didn't offer me the position.

Applied through email. Got a call from HR about a week later to come in for an interview. Interviewed with 5 people: HR, 3 paralegals, and the director. It was pretty casual, discussed my resume and random topics. Didn't hear back for a month. Emailed HR and they said the paralegals hadn't decided. Two months later, I emailed again, no response. Assumed I didn't get it, maybe due to salary. A few weeks after that, received a rejection letter in the mail. Surprised it wasn't an email.

They were really nice. The person we were supposed to talk to didn't show up for the first call but we were able to reschedule. They were persistent and interesting people to talk to. Their pro-bono interests are really great!
