Associate Project Manager
I applied for an internship but was invited to interview for a full-time Associate Project Manager role. I passed the phone interview, a lengthy assessment test (called auditions), and an initial in-person interview with over 8 people. After that, I was told the final step was a background check. However, a week later, a recruiter informed me I needed to meet with the hiring manager I would report to, who hadn't been present at my first in-person interview. I took more time off work to meet her. She asked many of the same questions, and also mentioned the role would be an 'experiment' as they roll out a new 'Pod' system, which wasn't mentioned before. Another week passed, and instead of background check details, I received an automated rejection email. I was not considered for the intern position either, and they didn't provide any feedback when I followed up. This whole process took 6 weeks.
- How would you deal with a conflict with a coworker?
- What's your approach to resolving disagreements with colleagues?
Project Manager
So I applied with a cover letter and got a call back pretty fast, like two days later. The phone interview was super short, only 13 minutes, and felt really scripted. I thought it went bad cause the interviewer was just reading questions, but then I got an email about an audition pretty quickly. The audition took a long time, like 5-6 hours, and involved testing my Excel skills, customer service, and making a survey about insurance. I'm a perfectionist so it might take others less time. Even though I put in a lot of effort, I got an email a few days later saying they weren't moving forward with my application, and they didn't even use my name. It really sucked after investing so much time. My advice is to be really friendly because they seem to care more about personality than experience. Oh, and most of the phone interview questions are already online, so look them up. Good luck!
- Respond by email, acting as a Jellyvision employee, to a client who wants to rename ALEX in a humorous scenario.
Project Manager
So I had a phone chat with a team member, and she thought I was a good fit and suggested I move forward. But, the position got filled before we could get an in-person interview set up. If I had gone on, I was told the next steps would have been a skills test (like a take-home assignment) and then an in-person 'audition' with the team.
- How would you manage a situation where you have 12 hours of tasks but only 8 hours to complete them in, and you must leave at 5 PM?
- What's your approach when you receive contradictory information from two stakeholders?
