The job involves adapting videos from YouTube content creators for other platforms, mainly Facebook. The process began with a very basic multiple-choice test, which I think is automatically graded. Then, you had to pick an available date for an interview. For this, you had to choose between 5 videos from some YouTubers and prepare a 10-second intro video. During the interview, you share your Premiere screen and basically have to justify your intro editing choices, among other questions. They pay 35 euros per job, and they mentioned that if the video gets a lot of views, you could earn a bonus of up to 80 euros. You sign a freelance contract and have to invoice them for each job. You get to choose how much you edit per month; I'm not sure if there's a minimum.

The interview began well with standard questions about my background and experience. Then, we transitioned to a live demonstration and questionnaire regarding a test project I had edited. Unfortunately, a technical issue with Google Hangouts caused my screen share to freeze on a single image throughout the session. This meant I had to repeatedly show the same content, unaware that their view wasn't updating. These technical difficulties made us fall significantly behind schedule, and the remainder of the interview felt hurried and stressful.

After sending in my application and doing the four hour editing test, I was super hyped to get to the next interview stage with Jellysmack. I did my interview at 5am US time because of their hours in France. The job listing didn't mention anything about needing to speak French, it just asked about languages I'm comfortable editing in, and I put English. I even double-checked with the hiring rep via email that I only speak English. But when I logged on for the interview, the same rep told me the second part would be in French, for editing French video content. They admitted it was their mistake but didn't even apologize. Pretty disappointing from a company I thought was great.
