First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Jei Learning Center.
Volunteer
It was super easy. They told me what I'd be doing and my responsibilities upfront. I got the shirt right away and knew when to start. They also made it clear what times to work and when to clock in and out.
- What makes you want to volunteer with us?
Math Tutor
I got called in for an interview where they asked me general discussion questions to check my people skills and personality. Then, about a week later, I had a second interview where I had to show off my math skills and how I teach. After being hired, I did one supervised session with students to make sure my teaching was good enough.
- What is your motivation for working here?
- Could you describe your previous teaching experience?
- Show us your math skills.
Tutor
It was kinda unorganized. Like, they didn't really confirm the interview properly. The manager hadn't even read my CV before I came in. They had these totally unrealistic ideas about education, like expecting a 20% grade increase from the teacher. And I had to wait around forever. Plus, the owner's English speaking and listening skills weren't great.
- How would you go about boosting a student's grade from a 70% to a 95% within a tight deadline?
- Are you capable of improving a student's grade from 70% to 95% quickly?
- What's your approach to teaching?
Administrative Assistant
It was really nice, the interview felt like a casual chat. My interviewer was super understanding and friendly, which made me feel way less nervous. I left feeling pretty good about it.
- Can you share an instance where you've shown leadership?
- Tell me about something you've done to improve your community.
