First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Jefferies.
Finance Analyst
I had a telephone interview that was less than 30 minutes long. There were no technical questions, mostly behavioral questions. Two interviewers, one HR and one finance analyst, were both friendly and nice. They also introduced the London office of Jefferies and the main job function to me.
- Can you tell me why you are interested in Jefferies?
- What makes you want to be a Finance Analyst?
Finance Analyst
It was pretty easy - mostly behavioral questions. Make sure you're up-to-date on market happenings, and show you're really interested in the role. They want to see that you're passionate about this career path long-term, even if that's not your true intention.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- What is your interest in Jefferies?
- Why are you interested in this particular role?
Financial Analyst
The interview process started with a meeting with an associate from the office I applied to. Then, I had a SuperDay where I had to select a company to acquire and present a case analysis to justify my choice. This involved four 30-minute Zoom calls with a total of 8 interviewers, including VPs, senior associates, and junior associates.
- Is it generally better for a company to use debt or equity financing, and why?
- Can you give me three words that describe you?
- Can you answer some more difficult questions about the case analysis I prepared?
