Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at JE Compliance Services.
Environmental Specialist
It was a pretty standard interview process. I did an initial video call, then a phone call. The phone interview was with a hiring manager or HR person, and they only asked non-technical questions. The whole thing took about three weeks.
- How do you handle managing and prioritizing multiple projects at the same time?
Environmental Specialist
I applied for an entry-level environmental specialist position. The interview process seems to be unchanged. I was interviewed by a very rude woman. She sneered at my resume and said that my experience at non-profit organizations wasn't professional experience. She also made some critical remarks about my experience level, even though I had just graduated and the job was supposed to be entry level. I defended myself, stating that "non-profit" is just a tax code term and that many such organizations are very professional, including the one I worked at. She then left the room and came back with about 10 engineering-related questions, stating that the interview had a test component. None of the questions seemed relevant to the advertised position. I politely told her that we were wasting each other's time and left. Based on other reviews, I think I made the right choice.
- Can you explain your lack of professional experience?
- Tell me about your professional experience.
Environmental Specialist
Applied for the job and then got invited to do an online webcam interview. The questions were standard and required me to talk to myself and answer them. Next, I had an in-person interview. They gave me a test to see what I know, it wasn't graded. Some questions on the test were unclear and tough to answer without more info. Then, the interviewer talked to me about the test and asked more questions about my qualifications, similar to the online interview. Never heard back after that.
- Can you tell me about your educational background?
