It was an online text message interview. We had a back and forth conversation. They asked general questions about my interest and fit for the role. The person texting me was nice. I was asked about my education and given topics about rhetoric to answer. Overall, it was a positive experience.

It started with a phone screening. Then I had an in-person interview with the manager, assistant manager and GM, all back to back. I thought it went really well. They said they would let me know four days later, after they concluded the rest of the interviews. It's now been two weeks and I haven't heard anything. No rejection, nothing. Very unprofessional.

Group Presentation Behavioral

I applied online and about a week and a half later, a recruiter from JCP called me for a phone interview. After that, I was invited for an in-person interview. When I got there, it turned out to be a group interview, which was a surprise! We had to work together to build something and then present new ideas from a list given to us. It went pretty well, and I think they were assessing teamwork, leadership, and how well we follow directions. I made an effort to interact with everyone to show my interpersonal skills, while some others were a bit too overbearing. After the last activity, the managers spoke with us individually about our availability. They also asked about specific things on my application, which seemed to be a precursor to an offer. I was then asked if I could start training in the coming days and if I had a preference for department or if I wanted to work behind the scenes. This whole experience was quite unique and very professional compared to other interviews I've had. The staff were friendly and provided contact information for any further questions.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • The hardest part was explaining to the group how to build the little house during the exercise.
