Behavioral Technical

I was contacted by a friendly recruiter who wanted to get a general sense of my background and why I was interested in working at JCPenney. Next, I had an interview with a store manager, followed by interviews with regional/market team leaders. It felt like an interrogation rather than an interview once I met the store management and field team. They seemed to be trying to catch me in a lie about my experience. Even though I currently manage all store operations for a major competitor, overseeing a role equivalent to the one I applied for, I left the interviews feeling unqualified.

First, there was a phone call, then another phone interview. I also had to take a personality test and an abilities test. Next, after those two rounds, I got an interview at one of the warehouses. Shortly after the warehouse interview, a few days later, I got a call saying I was offered the job.

Applied online and got a call a few days later for an interview with the District LPM. After that interview, I met with the District Manager. Then, I sat down with both Managers at the same time for a series of questions about my experience, character, and what I do in my spare time. A few days later, I got a job offer from Corporate.
