Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at JCB.
Design Engineer
First, there was a telephonic round with HR. Then, a panel technical interview covering my previous organization's skill set expertise and projects, my greatest achievement, and software and technical ratings at my recent organization. Finally, an HR round that included salary negotiation.
- Can you explain why you think we should hire you?
Engineer
After submitting your CV and cover letter, you'll be invited to an assessment day. This day involves a 10-minute presentation on a past achievement or project, a technical paper followed by a multiple-choice section on the company and general engineering knowledge, a team-building activity, and then an interview.
- Can you discuss your technical weaknesses?
- What are your career aspirations for the next five years?
- What motivated your interest in engineering?
Service Engineer
It was the worst interview experience ever. They didn't even look at my CV before interviewing me. The whole process felt unprofessional, from how they acted to the questions they asked. In the end, they also suggested the job wasn't suitable for a woman.
- What year did you graduate?
- Are you familiar with the job description?
