First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Jane App.
Senior Software Developer
Started with an intro call with the recruiter. Then had a behavioral interview with the engineering manager. After that, a take-home technical assessment where I had to implement product requirements, with no time limit. Next was a technical interview with software developers, where we reviewed my take-home assessment and they asked more technical questions, but no live coding. Finally, a behavioral interview with a product manager and the director of engineering, followed by an offer. Everyone I met was really nice and the recruiter was super engaged and responsive. The interviews felt more like discussions, which was great.
- What motivates your interest in working at Jane?
Software Developer
My interview process with Jane App was quite long, lasting about 4-5 months. It started with an HR screening, followed by an HR Manager interview. Then there was a take-home coding assessment that took a whole week. After that, I interviewed with the development team and finally had a panel interview with the Project Manager. Even after all this, I didn't get clear updates and communication was spotty. They said they might consider me later for a future opening. It's frustrating when you put in so much time and then there's no clear outcome or extended waiting. They should really make the process smoother and communicate better with candidates.
- Develop a functional feature as part of the take-home coding challenge.

The interview process at Janeapp is pretty simple. It started with a recruiter call, then a technical interview with the hiring manager, followed by a technical challenge, and finally a cultural fit interview. I didn't get the job and was ghosted, with no feedback given even after asking. Not sure if the recruiters were third-party or in-house, but it left a bad impression either way. It makes you wonder how they handle business issues if basic communication is missing during hiring.
