I love that everything is explained thoroughly so you know what to expect. There was an initial recruiter interview, then a take home assignment, followed by an interview with the team and a background check. They want to see how you handle problem solving, so it's not necessarily about getting the right answer but how well you use your resources and approach challenges. I truly enjoyed every step of the process and was given details about each and next steps. The team interview was very pleasant and conversational with a portion being a "mock support call". Come prepared with questions as it is also an opportunity for you to interview them and ensure it is an aligned opportunity. I was able to ask my questions and receive honest answers that allow me to get insight into the work culture.

I was shortlisted for a role at Jane App. The recruitment process started with a call with a recruiter, followed by a take-home assignment which I spent a lot of time on. After that, I had a final interview with the team, which seemed to go well. They told me I'd hear back within 2-3 business days at most. However, I was ghosted for weeks. I reached out to their TA Lead on LinkedIn, and they escalated it. I eventually got an apology and an offer to speak with the hiring lead. I declined, having already written my concerns and asked for a written explanation. Four days later, I got a generic rejection email saying my experience was more suited for chat/email roles and that they wanted more depth in problem-solving. This feedback was not given earlier. They sent an automated 'Candidate Experience Survey' claiming a transparent process with valuable feedback, which felt like a slap in the face after the whole ordeal. The process felt disorganized, dismissive, and emotionally exhausting.

I applied for this job knowing I have over 5 years of experience. They made me fill out a lot of questions about why I wanted to join the company, and then I got a standard email saying they have too many applications and can't give feedback. It would be nice if they gave at least one sentence of feedback to show some respect, especially when asking for a significant time investment. I'm not sure if this was a real job posting.
