The whole process was pretty chill and super quick, like under 10 minutes for me, and some people even shorter, maybe 5 mins. It was 2 alumni from the program, 1 JMU grad, and the program director, so maybe 4 or 5 people total. They made it feel more like a chat than an interview. Just be really confident when you speak. The main thing is to answer questions directly, don't go on and on with a story every time. GOOD LUCK. BE CONFIDENT.

To be interviewed, you have to write a one page essay answering these three questions: 1. What academic, social, and emotional challenges do you foresee as a JMU student? 2. What do you expect to get out of the Centennial Scholars Program? What do you plan to add? And, how do you think it will help your educational goals and plans? 3. Describe your academic strengths and weaknesses as you see them. The actual interview is way harder though, it's always a boardroom with a bunch of grad students and the program director (usually 10+ people) and they ask stuff you might not see coming. Make sure you know details about the program other than just the scholarship money.
