Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at James E. Crawford, Jr. & Associates.
Paralegal
I had a remote interview. The interviewer asked me a question about representing abusive parents for child custody. I was surprised but nodded. The interview ended soon after, and I was offered a second interview. I then emailed the interviewer to let him know I wasn't interested in the job.
- Would you feel comfortable representing abusive parents to help them get custody of their child?
Legal Assistant/Paralegal
The interview process was pretty straightforward. I started with a phone call, then had a Zoom chat with HR. Next, I was given a small assignment to proofread and send back. After that, I met with some attorneys from the firm in person, and eventually, they offered me the job. The whole thing took about one to two weeks.
- What was your typical weekly billable hours in your previous role?
Legal Assistant
The hiring process was super fast and they got back to me quickly. I was asked about my resume, how I'd deal with different scenarios, and why I was interested in working there. But, the attorney I was supposed to work with seemed totally unprepared during our meeting. He had his phone in his lap, didn't ask much that was relevant, and was distracted by someone else in his office at the start.
- What are your plans for the coming years?
