First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Jam City.
Software Engineer
I got to the third stage, a video call. The interviewer asked questions in a really unclear way, but expected very specific answers. They also weren't a great listener; when they didn't like an answer, they'd basically just repeat what I said but try to correct me. They seemed pretty distracted too, looking away a lot, which made me think someone else might have been there. The interview felt rushed at the end, and they never used my name. They also made me download and play their apps beforehand, which felt like a waste of time since none of the questions related to them.
- Can you explain data structures?
Software Engineer
Applied online and got a Codelity test pretty fast. Then a phone screening with the manager. After that, I had an onsite interview which had four technical rounds with the tech director and then pairs of senior developers. I received the offer two business days after that.
- Questions about recursion and dynamic programming were asked.
Software Engineer
The technical interview was pretty chill, they seemed more interested in how I thought through problems than if I knew exact syntax. It was a good way for us to get to know each other.
- Tell me about your favorite video game.
