Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Jam City.
Game Designer
It started with a technical test, which they praised a lot in the follow-up interview, then another in-depth technical test which they seem to enjoy a lot in the second interview, and then nothing, absolute ghosting, not answering emails, no feedback, nothing. Have been ghosted before after having an interview with them for a different position. The positions keep constantly being posted also, and when asking a friend that works there I was told that they didn't know about anyone new getting hired either and that they suspect it is a fake position, but don't have proof of that, just their word.
- Can you tell me about your work experience?
Game Designer
When I was referred, it was the standard procedure. I sent in my resume and then got an email for a phone interview. After that, I did a design test that had some questions and I had to make a level. Then they asked me to come in for an on-site interview. I saw the office and they let me know within a week.
- Which mechanics do you think could be improved?
Game Developer
I had to take a Codility test first. Then, I had a 1-hour interview with a senior developer. After that, I proceeded to a 5-hour live coding session with a senior developer. I had to wait 3 weeks for the Codility test results. The rest of the process was quick, but Jam City HR's process isn't fair to all applicants. They sometimes cancel interviews right before the scheduled date.
- Do you have general questions about C# and Unity?
- What are your thoughts on coroutines?
- Can you explain const and readonly in C#?
