First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at JACOBS DOUWE EGBERTS.
Intern
There was one interview with the manager. It was pretty standard, covering my background and experiences, my interest in the company, and my professional projects. There was also a basic Excel test to check if I could do some simple tasks.
- Why did you choose this company?
Intern
The application process felt pretty confusing. I applied for the internship program, expecting multiple openings, but there were only two: one for sales and one for HR. They invited many people from various unrelated majors, which felt like a waste of time due to the lack of clear information. The process itself was a bit vague, involving an elevator pitch and then a case study. The evaluation criteria weren't clear at all. They decided on the candidates who passed right then and there, and that was the end of it.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
Intern
The job was an internship in planning and packaging. I first applied online and heard back a few weeks later to schedule a phone interview. I got a response within 48 hours after the phone interview and was asked to come in for an assessment centre the following week. It took over a week to hear back after the assessment centre, so I assumed it wasn't successful, but I did get feedback. The feedback indicated I did great on the presentation and group exercises but didn't do well in the interview part. At the assessment centre, current interns welcomed us and then briefed us on the day's schedule. TIPS - Take fewer notes on paper and maintain good eye contact. - It's fine to be nervous, but don't read from your notes - I wrote keywords and then spoke about them - Always back up what you say with some evidence. The team at JDE was really nice and kept a great vibe at the assessment centre.
- Could you tell me about yourself, including your CV and any hobbies?
- Can you describe a problem you encountered and how you resolved it?
- Describe a time you received feedback and how you adjusted based on it.
