Started with a group interview with some typical interview games like '2 truths and a lie'. We also had to pick out an outfit for a festival and explain our choices, then design an event and present it. I got a call the same day for a 1 to 1 and a trial shift, which went well - I enjoyed helping customers and got along with the team. However, the trial shift was unpaid. The manager said he'd call by a certain day but never did, not even to say no. This was disappointing, especially compared to companies like Next who offer a gift card for trial shifts and provide prompt feedback. Turns out they only pay around £4 an hour anyway.

Group Presentation

I applied in store and was contacted a few days later for a group interview. It was pretty straightforward; we were put into teams and asked some brand-related questions. Then, we were paired up and given customer briefs. We had to go around the store, pick out suitable items, and then return to the group to present our choices and explain why we selected those outfits. To wrap up, we had to write down our availability, which seemed to be the key factor in getting hired for the Christmas season. This worked out for me, but several university students who couldn't commit to the full period weren't selected. I received an email about 5 days later confirming I got the job.

Behavioral Presentation

The hiring manager was really chill and made me feel welcome. The interview itself was pretty straightforward if you've done your homework on the company. Just make sure you look the part, act professional, know a bit about our products, and come across as outgoing and friendly. You don't actually need to own any Jack Wills stuff to get hired, just get familiar with the products.
