First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Jabil.
Senior Mechanical Engineer
So the interview process started with a call from Insight Global, who are a contract agency. Then I had a telephone interview with Jabil-Nypro. After that, there was a gap of about three months. Then, I went through a Group Panel interview, followed by another telephone interview with Jabil-Nypro. And then I got the offer a week later.
- Tell me about your medical design experience.
Mechanical Design Engineer
I applied online via LinkedIn and got a call from a Jabil recruiter the next day. She scheduled a call but then missed it entirely, not showing up for the full hour. She apologized via email and rescheduled, but was almost 20 minutes late to that call too. While she might not represent everyone, it really put me off. I eventually spoke with two project engineers via Microsoft Teams for an hour. They explained what the company does and seemed knowledgeable. This screening was good enough to get me an in-person interview, though I didn't hear about it from the first recruiter as expected. The in-person interview was with the hiring manager, the two engineers from the phone call, and another engineer. They were a bit late, seemingly from another meeting. They mainly asked about my past projects and some technical questions on automating a task. I also got to ask about work-life balance, which didn't seem great, though I might have misread it. I got an offer about a week later, but the compensation was lower than I asked for. Combined with my initial impressions, I declined the offer.
- Can you tell me about your experience and past projects?
- What are your career goals?
- Be ready to discuss all the specifics of your projects.
Mechanical Engineer
They started with a CV run through, then we talked about projects I've worked on, continuous improvement, and lean experience. We also covered aspirations, self-awareness, and situational questions. There were questions about people leadership experience, mentoring and developing peers and new hires, company goals and metrics.
- Can you share an example of a project where you successfully reduced costs for the business?
