First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at J.S. Held.
Associate Consultant
The in-person interview in Bogotá, Colombia, managed by Jaime Valenciano, was great. However, the associate director in Chile, a Spanish man whose name I won't mention, didn't take the interview seriously and joined the meeting late. I felt qualified, and the process was slow but fine until the interview with the Spaniard. He didn't ask many questions, rushed the process, and ultimately rejected me.
- Are you ready to handle various types of documentation and reports regularly?
Assistant Vice President
I began with a quick phone chat with a recruiter from J.S. Held. After that, I had a video call with the person who would be my manager. The final step was a third interview with someone higher up in the company. All three interviews were good experiences, and the team was really professional and answered all my questions.
- Regarding travel, are you available for last-minute trips?
- Do you lean more towards teamwork or independent work?
- If a machine malfunctioned, what steps would you take to diagnose the issue?
HR Analytics Lead
The hiring process involved a recruiter phone screen, a chat with the hiring manager, and a peer interview. Everyone was professional and nice. It was surprising though, because even though I have experience in updating HR analytics, they said I might be too qualified for their current systems, which are still very manual and Excel-based. I thought my background in automation and advanced analytics would be a plus, especially for a company that says it offers technical and strategic expertise. It looks like the role isn't ready for the kind of changes I could bring.
- Could you list the systems you have experience with?
- Do you think you would find this role unengaging?
- What are your career aspirations for your next position?
Business Development Associate
The whole process started with a recruiter chat, then I talked to the senior director, followed by two interviews with teammates, and ended with an in-person interview with 5 other people on the team. It took forever and they barely kept me in the loop. I even traveled there and after two weeks, they told me I didn't get it because my sales experience wasn't enough. They didn't seem to value my time, and the team didn't really know much about the job. Honestly, it was a bad experience, and I'd be careful applying here.
- Can you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
- Could you describe your past experiences?
- What information do you have about our company?
