The interview was in person with the manager. The questions were all relevant to the position, and I liked that there weren't any personality test type questions. There was also ample time for me to ask questions.

I filled out a paper application for the store. I took the application home to complete it carefully and returned it about 15 minutes later. When I returned it, I had a quick chat with the assistant store manager. She said she would give my application to the store manager, who would be in the next day. The next morning, the store manager called me. She mentioned her assistant was impressed with my presentation. We talked for about 5-8 minutes, and she asked about my availability for an in-person interview. We scheduled it for that afternoon. The interview felt more like a casual conversation, getting to know each other, rather than a formal interview. It was relaxed and we exchanged ideas. I didn't feel intimidated, but the manager was still professional and earned my respect. I left feeling positive and was told I'd hear about my status. I got a call offering me the job and welcoming me aboard less than a day later.

I called the store to see if they were hiring and the manager answered. She said yes and asked me to come in the next day to fill out an application and interview. She actually interviewed me a little over the phone when I first called, asking about my retail history. When I went in the next day, I filled out an application and then we sat down to chat. She asked me several questions about myself, my past jobs, why I wanted to work there, if I had experience opening credit cards, and my old job responsibilities. Lastly, she asked if I had any questions for her. It was a pretty easy, relaxed interview.
