Behavioral Other

I met the Store Manager at a retail networking event. She reached out about an open position, and we had a chat where I learned a lot about the company. It was casual, no standard behavioral questions. Then I interviewed with the district manager. This was a bit more formal but still friendly and not intimidating. Next, I visited the store to meet current employees and see the place. The SM seemed ready to hire me. All this happened in about a week. After the in-store interview, the SM mentioned she and the DM had to finish other interviews. About a week later, the SM called to say they hired someone else. That person had more visual merchandising experience, which is fair.

The interview was in person with the manager. The questions were all relevant to the position, and I liked that there weren't any personality test type questions. There was also ample time for me to ask questions.

Behavioral Technical

The interview process was quite good, not too difficult, and everything went smoothly. The interviewers were very nice, kind, warm, and always smiling. They were also very supportive, making the experience not stressful at all. I'm hopeful about getting the position I applied for. That's the overall summary of my interview.

The communication was poor. I talked to the TA and they said I'd hear back by the end of the week. I didn't hear back, so I followed up the next week. They told me they had decided to go in another direction but wouldn't give me any feedback on why.
