So first, they look at your resume. Then, there's a chat, either on the phone or video. After that, you might do some tests for technical stuff or skills. Then, you'll probably have an in-person interview, maybe with a group of people. They'll also ask you questions about how you behave. Finally, they'll decide and either give you feedback or an offer.
- Are you seeking full-time or part-time work?
Chef
The interview was pretty chill but still professional. Jack was cool to chat with and he gave me a tour. He asked about my salary expectations and availability, and when I could come in for a trial shift.
- How many Wetherspoons locations are there?
Barista
Applied for the job because it was local and a new role within the company that wasn't a 0 hours contract. I assumed the listed hours of 9am to 12pm Saturday & Sunday meant a 6-hour weekly contract, but it turned out to be 0 hours, which felt a bit misleading as it wasn't in the advert. The manager then said the induction for coffee & tea making would be in Newcastle, a place I couldn't easily get to without significant travel costs, especially for the following week. This made me realize all the questions asked earlier were pointless, considering the effort needed for a job that might have required full-time hours when I only wanted part-time for extra cash.
- Are you available to work until midnight or 1 AM?
