Intern
The interview was pretty short, but mostly about technical stuff. They asked about my school path, and the recruiter seemed iffy about it. Turns out, they're looking for grads to train, not current students. It didn't help when I said my internship is part of my college coursework; they worried I'd ditch after it was done, even though most interns stick around. Bringing up that getting my bachelor's is a main goal also seemed to be a problem, making them question how I'd manage an internship and schoolwork (guess they don't want you to have a life outside work). The fact they even interviewed me as a student suggests they either enjoy wasting time or are totally disorganized. Honestly, I think it's a bit of both. Glad I didn't get the job, would've regretted it for sure.

Help Desk Technician
It was pretty chill, the people were nice. They would keep probing on some technical questions if they thought I was close to the right answer, which made me a bit anxious when I was guessing, but they did a good job of leading me. I think they were just checking my knowledge and logic, so don't sweat it if you don't know everything.

IT Manager
I applied for an IT Manager role in Jacksonville after seeing it on LinkedIn, thinking I was a good fit. My wife and I wanted to move to the US from Argentina. I had a call with HR, then a video call with two technical managers the next day. They told me HR would call to set up an in-person meeting. HR thought I was in Miami, but they clarified I was in Argentina. HR said they couldn't pay for a flight from Argentina but could cover a rental car and a hotel night in Jacksonville. I offered to pay for my flight (which was about $1000 and 9 hours) and asked about the interview. HR said it would just be me. I flew to Jacksonville and drove from Miami. The day before the interview, HR showed me the office. I interviewed with the two technical managers and a senior manager. I thought it went okay, but the senior manager seemed unsure. I was told HR would call the next day. I didn't get a call, so I drove back to Miami. I was flying back to Argentina that Saturday. After emailing HR, they finally replied on August 23rd, saying everyone liked me, but the senior manager wanted to interview a couple more candidates and they'd update me. They said they'd call or email Monday. I never heard back and sent several emails and left voicemails. I'm okay with not getting the job, but the lack of communication and professionalism in the final stages, especially after I went through so much trouble to attend, was very disappointing. They should at least keep communication open.
- Can you tell me about how you have managed teams in the past?
- What experience do you have managing direct reports?
- Could you discuss the metrics you've utilized in your management roles?
Sales Executive
So I'm reviewing the Sales Executive interview here at iVenture Solutions and honestly it was super disappointing and misleading, hence this review. Beware! The whole thing started with two phone calls, first the internal recruiter then the hiring manager. After that, I went for a face-to-face interview and got a tour of the Orlando office with the hiring manager. These first three stages went great, really positive vibes, even talked about an offer. Then came the final GoToMeeting interview with some industry consultant. This one was supposed to be nearly two hours, partly because of tech issues, and it felt really invasive, though they did warn me beforehand. I guess the interview itself is fine. The consultant got super specific, to the point where some of what he asked about seemed to contradict the job description. Like, the posting says you're a great candidate if you have a 'hunter's mentality.' But what does that actually mean at iVenture? They expect the Sales Executive to make 100 cold calls daily, every day. This is where it got disappointing for me. My background, which they knew about, wasn't really in that kind of telemarketing-style business development. My experience has been in complex, relationship-based sales, selling high-ticket items. Doing that kind of cold calling alongside client meetings, relationship building, corporate meetings, presentations, proposal reviews, negotiations, and closing deals... it feels like a setup for failure. Maybe that's what the hiring manager meant when he said the sales team 'is not what it should be.' It's been over two weeks since that consultant interview, and I haven't heard anything back, despite leaving voicemails and emails for the recruiter and manager. It feels really disingenuous because they actually had me do research for the next call in that GoToMeeting interview, and it never happened.
