I applied through a job board and had an interview with the recruiter which went pretty smoothly. The 2nd part of the process was a SQL test which was pretty simple and standard and then I was scheduled for a call with a Director who was very rude and unfriendly. My interview experience with the Director was very bad and he made me feel uncomfortable from the 1st minute.

I was first contacted by a recruiter on LinkedIn for a 20-minute call. They were very helpful and gave me feedback after each step. Then there were 2 Codility tests where I got a 97%. After that, I had an interview and an SQL test with a director. I solved all the SQL cases and the recruiter told me the director gave great feedback on my analytical thinking and SQL skills. Next, I had a 45-minute interview with another director, followed by a 45-minute interview with a third director. The final interview was a 30-minute meeting with a senior VP. During the fourth interview, I asked about the company's stance on WFH and flexible hours, which seemed to be a big no-no. The recruiter mentioned this as negative feedback and subtly advised against bringing it up again. In the fifth and sixth interviews, I was asked why I even asked about it. The senior VP explained that COVID and WFH had hurt their productivity, and they prefer people in the office, suggesting that those not in the office don't work as hard unless they are high performers. This is when I realized I didn't want to work there because of their outdated mindset. It's surprising how a global/growing company could succeed with such thinking, especially when my current remote team works hard, collaborates, and delivers results from all over the world. Ivalua isn't a place I see myself building a career.

The whole thing took about a month, and I had a good experience overall. It started with an HR call, then I had a SQL assignment to do. After that, I had 4 interviews over Zoom with some of the senior folks, like Directors and the SVP. I have to give a shout-out to the recruiting team; they were super quick with setting things up and letting me know how I did. Their help in getting ready made a big difference.
