First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at ITW.
Inside Sales Representative
I had a recruiter screen first, which was pretty simple. Then I interviewed with HR and my future manager. After that, I went on-site for a team interview with several people, and it finished within an hour.
- How would you handle a situation where you proposed a new idea that faced resistance from others?
Sales Representative
I had a phone interview and then a 1 on 1 interview. Both were pretty standard interview questions. The person I spoke with in the 1 on 1 wasn't very organized and couldn't give me specifics about what a typical week would entail. I decided not to continue with the process mainly because of that and also because they wouldn't discuss salary until I gave them my number.
- What qualities do you seek in a supervisor?
- Can you describe what a typical work week involves?
Sales Representative
Had 2 phone screens, then met the local rep in person. Next, I flew out to Chicago for the final interview with the regional manager at the corporate office, though the building was pretty empty which was odd. It was a standard process until that last interview.
- What makes you the best candidate for this position?
