Assistant SEO Manager
Standard questions. The interviewer didn't seem to understand my answers, so I don't know why she asked them if she wasn't going to understand them. Then the economic topic came up, and they told me that because I don't live in Madrid, they can't hire me for the Madrid office and I have to take care of my fiscal obligations. I live in Spain, it's not necessary to live in Madrid for you to hire me with the Madrid office.
- Since you don't live in Madrid, could you handle your fiscal obligations?
Linguist
I had one interview that lasted about half an hour with a woman who couldn't really explain the role because they didn't have the details figured out yet. She spent most of the time asking me about the internal workings of the high-profile company I was working for, which is also a competitor. It felt like they were more interested in getting intel on a competitor than interviewing me for a real job. As expected, there was no follow-up for over a month, so I reached out. I just got a canned response that they were 'still reviewing my profile.' It's been four months now with no word back. It was super unprofessional, so I'd be careful with this company.
- Tell me about the internal structure of your current company.
- Can you describe the internal structure of [Competitor company name]?
ESL Instructor
The interview process was pretty straightforward. They asked me to create and submit a video, and then just wait to hear back. There was a chance I might have to resubmit or restart the application, which could take about 10-15 days for approval. The video needed to be around 1 minute long.
- Can you share your background and experience?
- What relevant certificates do you hold?
Brand and Social Media Manager
I had an initial HR interview with standard questions. They said they'd get back to me in 2-3 days, but it took two weeks. They then informed me I'd progressed to the next stage and asked if I could interview two days later, or suggest an alternative date that week. I responded the same day with options, but heard nothing back. I followed up two days later, thinking maybe they missed my email, but was ghosted again. Honestly, it was a blessing in disguise, as I wouldn't want to work for such an unprofessional company that disregards people's time and effort. I was actively interviewing elsewhere and had other strong offers, but I believe it's important to call out these unprofessional interview practices so future candidates are aware of the type of company they might be joining.
- Can you walk me through your background and previous roles?
