Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Itaú Unibanco.
Apprentice
I initially got contacted for an interview via email after applying on Gupy. Then, there was a group interview with managers, followed by an individual interview. After these interviews, I received an offer but turned it down. Overall, the process was quite interesting and good. I thought the way it was handled was very objective and inclusive.

Apprentice
It was horrible. I was contacted by a recruitment agency and had to attend a group interview far from my home, even though the job opening was nearby. The first stage involved a group dynamic activity, a personal presentation, a questionnaire, and a writing task. During my presentation, the managers seemed indifferent, just like they were with everyone else who lacked experience in the field. They repeatedly asked me if I had formal work experience, despite the job title being 'Apprentice,' which implies no prior experience should be required. Two weeks later, I received feedback stating I didn't meet the minimum requirements, even though I possess all of them as clearly stated on the website. I didn't advance to the interview with the manager and was very upset because I'm sure they disqualified me due to the lack of formal work experience.

This section focuses on identifying positive signals during an interview that might indicate you're a strong candidate. It suggests paying attention to whether the interview felt like a comfortable conversation, if the interviewer clearly explained the role's pros and cons, and if they seemed genuinely engaged with your answers. It also highlights positive signs such as feeling enthusiastic about the company and role, having your questions answered thoroughly, being introduced to potential colleagues or decision-makers, and the interviewer being clear about next steps and providing good feedback to the recruiter. The text advises that these signals aren't absolute confirmation of success but indicate you likely did something right and were a strong contender, encouraging you to learn from the experience for future interviews.
- Did you feel comfortable during the interview, finding it easy to converse with the interviewer, making it feel more like a chat than a Q&A?
- Were you informed about your role, with the interviewer specifying what would be expected of you, and detailing the pros and cons of the position?
- Did the interviewer seem engaged as you answered questions and talked about yourself, showing interest through body language and responses?
