First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at IT Works Recruitment.
Business Development Manager
I spoke with the VP of Sales for an hour, then the President for three hours, and finally the department leaders for an hour. They really grilled me with tough questions. I got the offer the same day as the last interview and we picked a start date later. Before I started, there was a drug screen and background check. They also asked my opinion about which markets were available.
- Tell me about your successes in your last job, especially considering the pandemic.
- You said "we" were successful, but I asked how "you" were successful. Can you explain that?
Programmer Analyst
Recruiters were inexperienced and unethical, making illegal inquiries about salary history. They proposed an out-of-budget salary, then lowballed to what the client company actually wanted to pay. The recruiter didn't communicate anything in writing to avoid a paper trail of lies and illegal activity. There were many toxic phone calls with no real substantive dialogue or updates about the position. No proactive efforts were made to request relevant benefits information or company culture details from the client company.
- I was presented with a real-world problem to solve.
Recruiter
The whole process was super easy! I saw a post about them hiring recruiters and sales folks, so I shot over a message and my resume to the TA person. She got back to me the same day and we set up a call for the next week. I figured it was just a quick chat to see if I was a fit, but it turned out to be the actual interview! By the end of it, she asked if I wanted to come in and meet the team for an on-site panel interview. That was set for the following week, and they offered me the job right then and there!
- What qualities do you believe make an effective recruiter?
- What drives you to get up and go each morning?
- What's the most important lesson you've learned in your life up to this point?
Sales Representative
The first interview was professional. The second round was degrading, demeaning, and purposefully intimidating. Nobody should be treated this way. Prepare to defend every word you say, as you will be challenged.
- Tell me about your greatest accomplishment.
