HR called and invited me for the interview. I went to the company and the front desk checked me in. I had to fill out some info and then took an exam. The exam wasn't too difficult. After waiting a bit, the project manager talked to me. They asked about my college major and past projects. Then, they told me to wait for their response.

Technical Coding System Design

I was contacted by a recruiter for an entry-level Associate SDE position. There was just one interview round, an onsite 1:1. It started late, which was a red flag. The interviewer asked some basic questions about ASP.Net for front-end development that felt more like trivia or easily searchable info, not really testing my skills for an entry-level role. Then came three technical exercises: a JavaScript DOM coding problem on a whiteboard, a C# problem, and SQL queries. Overall, it didn't feel like a place I'd want to work.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • Could you write a JavaScript function that displays data from a clicked list item in an HTML alert window?
  • What are the benefits of ASP.Net compared to other full stack web development frameworks?
  • Using three tables, please write SQL queries that include a JOIN and inner SELECT statement(s).
