First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at ISGN Corporation.
Functional Tester
I was contacted via Naukri for a walk-in interview. Initially, there was an HR round to discuss salary. It was a bad experience as they offered only a 15% hike, and if not accepted, we couldn't proceed. Many people left because of this. They expected 5+ years of experience in Manual, Automation, Performance, SQL, etc., but the maximum salary offered was 6 Lacs. The HR person had a lot of attitude. After that, the first round was a written test covering basic concepts of Manual and Automation Testing and SQL. The second round was a technical interview where they didn't ask anything from our resumes but had a set of predefined questions. They didn't seem technically strong and behaved like freshers. Even if you answered correctly, they wouldn't accept it, believing they were always right.
- Can you explain what a peer review is?
Test Engineer
The first round was a written test with pen and paper, covering QA-related questions. The second round was F2F, where I had to wait for 4.5 hours. The interviewer seemed unsure about Java methods, and when I explained Overload with Methods, they questioned why I used 'method' instead of 'function', believing 'class' and 'method' were the same. I then clarified that in Java, functions are called methods.
- What is Compatibility Testing?
- Tell me about APACHE POI.
- Explain System Testing.
Strategy
Went through multiple interviews with senior folks. Some were phone calls, others were in person. The execs seemed to have a good grasp of the company's position and the market's challenges. Started with phone discussions, then several video calls. After that, there were in-person meetings out of town. Finally, there were calls with board members located in the US and India. It was a very thorough and tiring interview process.
- What strategic adjustments would you implement to create an impact?
- What is your perspective on the company's current situation?
- What are the market challenges as you perceive them?
Compliance Specialist
Honestly this was the worst interview experience I've ever had. I saw the negative reviews and thought people were just being dramatic, but wow. The hiring manager asked me two super open-ended questions, and I gave my answers. For some reason, that wasn't good enough, and they cut me off to ask if I had any questions. I knew what that meant, so I tried to recover by asking some questions, but they gave me these really arrogant and condescending answers. No idea what went wrong.
