I went through 3 interviews with some really nice people. They asked good questions, made sure I was prepared for the role, and were generally friendly and helpful. It seemed like they really wanted to hire the right person and see how I'd fit in with the team.

I had a 15-min chat with Talent Acquisition. It was really welcoming and easy, not nerve-wracking at all. We just talked about soft and hard skills, so be ready for that. I got an interview right after applying. They get back to you pretty quickly, as they don't like to keep students waiting.

The interview process started off great with awesome communication from the HR recruiting team. Things seemed to be moving along nicely with three interviews happening in late November and early December of 2021. I had two other offers already, so in mid-December I checked in to see if they were still interested in my application. I got a 'yes' back, but they needed to postpone the final decision until mid-January 2022. I figured that was understandable due to COVID and the holiday season, so I turned down the other offers because I was really keen on Irving Oil. But then, a quick LinkedIn search showed that someone else had actually accepted the same job back in late December. Mid-January rolls around, and I'm told the decision is delayed *again*. A new recruiter is now handling things and promised an update. A week passes, no word. I send an email politely asking for an update or decision – nothing for another week. Finally, after I send *another* email to the original recruiter, I get a polite rejection. Honestly, this two-and-a-half-month process could have been so much smoother and fairer, especially considering backup candidates!

It was a total of four interviews, starting with HR, then the hiring manager, followed by another meeting with the hiring manager and a Senior Project Engineer, and finally a session with two Senior Managers. Everything was done via video call. The team seemed really great, which was a plus. The only drawback was that the whole process took too long, and I ended up taking another job offer. They asked typical "tell me about a time when..." questions. Overall, the interviews themselves were a positive experience.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Can you share an instance where you juggled several competing priorities and explain your approach to managing them?
  • Tell me about a time you faced a conflict and how you went about resolving it.
