The hiring manager was late, and seemed unprepared, not knowing what questions to ask. There was also miscommunication between the recruiter and the interviewer. The interview was not behavioral at all, just random questions that came to the interviewer's mind.

I originally applied for a Co-Op role at iRobot but ended up second. Sarah Canfield from University Relations called to give me feedback on my previous application and mentioned another co-op opening in a different department. She then passed my info to a manager looking for a co-op. I had a phone interview that was about an hour long and felt very casual. After that, I was invited to the office to meet the team. When I got there, I had a short interview where we discussed the project I'd be working on and brainstormed solutions. Then, I spent time with three potential coworkers in a relaxed setting to get to know each other. I was treated to lunch, got a tour, and saw what one of the interviewers was working on. Sarah wrapped things up with a quick debrief. She was great and made the whole experience really comfortable. Even though I didn't get the first internship I applied for, Sarah helped me find a position I'm really excited about. The company culture seems awesome – everyone is welcoming, supportive, and friendly. Sarah's best advice was to do my research on the company and the people I'd be interviewing with.

After dropping off my resume at a campus career fair, I heard back from the hiring manager in about one to three months. Scheduling the phone interview was flexible and it lasted about an hour. We covered my past projects and future plans. The technical part involved explaining college-level math concepts in English and some programming/design questions.
