Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at IRI.
Analyst
The interview process involved a few initial stages. First, there was a recruiter call to discuss basic qualifications and fit. This was followed by a phone screen where I was asked a series of questions to gauge my experience and suitability for the Analyst role.
- Could you tell us about yourself?
- What do you consider your greatest strengths and weaknesses?
- What makes you want to be a part of our company?
Analyst
So after the take-home-test on Excel, there was a one hour interview with the team lead and another senior staff member. The questions were pretty basic and straightforward, so if you've prepared, it should be fine. Overall, it was a good experience, and HR got back to me quickly. The team seems great and the benefits are good too.
- Can you tell me about your five-year plan?
Analyst
It was a horrible experience. There were long periods with no follow-up and 2 cancellations. I interviewed 3 times with 3 different people for 2 separate positions. For the first job, there was a phone screen, and I was told there would be another interview, but then there was no follow-up for 2 weeks. The person I was supposed to interview with canceled. I followed up again, and on the day of the interview, I was told I would be interviewing with a different person. After that, there was no follow-up for 3 weeks, and then I was told the position had been filled, but they had another opening. The third interview was a video interview. The person I was going to interview with canceled again. Once we finally interviewed, I was told the position was more administrative than posted and that I would be doing little to no analysis. I never heard from them again after the interview.
- Can you tell me about your strengths?
- What about your weaknesses?
