It was detailed and they really made an effort to ensure potential hires understood the role. I think a ride-along was part of it too, where you go with someone in the field and can ask questions to really see if it's a fit.

Had a quick phone interview where we talked about if the working conditions would be okay for me and if I could do the basic stuff for the job. She told me about how much travel is needed, how I'd get reimbursed, and if there's a chance for a company car. She asked me how I felt about being in dirty or messy homes. She also asked why I was interested in working for this particular organization.

It was a short phone interview that led to an in-person interview at their office. The interviewer seemed a bit on edge and kept looking around the room. We didn't get to talk about salary until the last 20 minutes, and it's not much – case workers top out around 31k a year. Plus, they expect you to drive 300-500 miles a week and only give 33 cents per mile for gas.

I applied on the website and then got an email to schedule an interview. I went in person for the interview, and it lasted about an hour or a bit more. We went over my resume and what I've done before. They presented me with some situations and asked what I would do or how I would react. After that, I got to ask them questions about the pay, the typical work week and hours, the job tasks, and chances for professional growth, etc. I met directly with the hiring manager, and she introduced me to the director and supervisors for the branch I was applying to. It was a really relaxed vibe, very much a conversation, and it was nice.
