Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at IQVIA.
Programmer Analyst
The interview process was a breeze and the interviewer was super chill and welcoming. The people on the panel really knew their stuff and all the questions were technical, focused on my previous work. It was about an hour long, covering introductions from both sides, their questions, and then my questions and what I expected. All in all, it was a great experience. The HR person was really responsive and helpful too. Honestly, it was the best interview experience I've had.
- Can you explain your experience with custom functions, including datetime functions and how you access data points?
Software Engineer
Interview is good. Total three rounds. First technical round, was a bit difficult. Second round is technical and managerial. Third round is with the director, it's a good friendly team. But the HR team was not good. Not properly communicating and always delaying in processing the profile. I was selected in the interview but due to HR's worst coordination, I joined another company. HR thinks like it's a great company, candidates will wait and join. They don't know if you drag a candidate, they will get a new offer.
- Can you explain Mainframe, JCL, COBOL, and DB2, and also describe your daily tasks and work?
Software Engineer
It started with a hard aptitude test, not extremely hard though. It had English, maths, logical, and reasoning questions. They were okay, but the time limit made it hard. You get about 1 to 1.5 min max per question that needs complex calculation if you don't know some formula or trick. If you're good at programming and not at maths, English, etc., this test will be tough and you won't be able to show your skills. The interview was quick but I was asked mostly about SQL, even though I prepared for Python. If you're good at SQL, then you have nothing to worry about.
- What are the data types in Python?
- What's the difference between a list and a tuple?
- How do you find a substring within a sentence?
