SEO Manager
I interviewed for the Associate SEO Manager role. The first two rounds were pretty standard and went well, which was a good sign. But the third round, where we discussed my assignment, was a bit different. It was with the Head of SEO and another manager. We started off okay, but then I kept getting interrupted and didn't really get to finish my thoughts, making it hard to explain my process. The assignment itself was just for one part of the website and only had two days to complete. During the discussion, they asked questions that seemed to need way more time and a much bigger audit than the assignment allowed. It got really focused on small details and things outside the assignment, and they weren't really open to other ideas. It felt less like a conversation and more like they were just grading me strictly. While I get they need to evaluate, a more balanced chat would be better to show what I can do. You could tell they've been there a long time because they were so confident and set in their ways.
- What did you find during the webpage audit, and how can we boost the site's ranking and traffic?
Vice President Analytics
I went through 4 lengthy rounds at iQuanti, including a week-long effort to build and present an analytics strategy deck — twice, once to a panel and again to the new CEO. I received positive feedback at every stage, was even asked to share my deck afterward, only to be told days later that the role was being “indefinitely put on hold.” This shows a lack of respect for candidates’ time and effort. If there was no real intent to hire, it should never have gone this far. Candidates deserve transparency, not a drawn-out process that feels like free consulting.
- What is your analytics strategy and vision for iQuanti?
Analyst
So I was contacted by a recruiter about a senior analyst role, and after I said I was interested, they asked if I had A/B testing or optimization experience, which wasn't in the job description. I said no. Then the recruiter ghosted me for a month, before messaging again to say they had separate analytics and optimization roles open and wanted to move forward with me for the analytics one. I had a phone screen with the recruiter's manager, who just had me summarize my past roles and couldn't give many details about the job. Then I spoke with an analyst via video call who asked me technical questions about analytics implementation and how I'd tackle common business issues. My next video call was with the hiring manager, who then told me A/B testing and optimization were actually critical for the role and that I wasn't qualified. I never got a rejection email or any follow-up.
- Can you explain the difference between a prop and an eVar, and tell me which you'd use for tracking conversion activities and your reasoning?
- What's the distinction between hit-level, visit-level, and visitor-level data?
- How would you investigate the reason for a client's landing page showing multiple month-over-month declines in engagement rates?
Analyst
I went through an interview for a strategist position at a digital marketing company. It had three parts: first, a phone chat, then a test on optimizing campaigns, and finally a talk about managing clients and creative strategy. The technical part involved looking at a campaign example and figuring out how to make it better using its stats. The last interview was more of a chat about my background, the company vibe, and how I’d deal with clients. The group seemed like they worked well together and were future-focused, which made it interesting and engaging. It wrapped up nicely with clear info on what's next.
