Ipreo Software Engineer Interview Questions

So I saw their school presentation and then emailed HR. The job was basically software development and general IT stuff, with a strong focus on Windows & .NET. It wasn't super clear what interns would actually do though. They came back to campus for interviews and asked general behavioral questions. Again, not many specifics about the role, just that I'd be placed based on my skills. Some other people got simple technical questions, but I didn't. After getting an offer a week later, I still didn't get details about my position. They declined to send a written offer or details, just an email with the application and a competitive hourly rate. They said I'd find out more on the first day when I met my manager.

I applied online and then a recruiter from HR contacted me. We did an initial phone screen that lasted about 15-30 minutes. Then about a week later, I was invited for an on-site technical interview. It took most of the morning, up until lunch. First, I talked with a Product Manager for about 30 minutes. Then, I met with the lead engineers for the role, and we talked for about 2 hours. We chatted about my background, and they asked some standard questions related to Perspective, Impact, Delivery, and Expertise, which all started with 'Tell us about a time...'. I used my past experiences and what I learned to answer. After that, there were a few simple verbal technical questions, followed by a 15-minute written test which was of moderate difficulty. We then discussed my answers and the reasoning behind the test questions. The test included questions like writing an SQL statement, explaining value vs reference types with Java/C# examples, identifying a data format like JSON, and analyzing a code snippet. After the on-site, I had a video call with the head of the team I would be working with and the head of the department. It was mainly a chat, giving them a chance to get to know me. I didn't get an offer, but the interview experience was great. It felt fair, and everyone I interacted with was excellent.

A recruiter from Ipreo contacted me. We had a phone screen, and then a few days later, I had four interviews: two technical and two management. The technical interviewers weren't on-site as expected, so I was at Ipreo talking to them over the phone without video. It wasn't ideal for in-depth technical discussions. After spending a whole afternoon, not including prep time, I never heard back from anyone at Ipreo, which is poor form and makes me reconsider working for them.
