First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at IPG Mediabrands.
Financial Analyst
I applied through my school's website and about a week later, I had a phone interview with a recruiter. Two days after that, she emailed me to come into the office for the next interview. The interviews were really nice and friendly, and they explained everything about the job. They seemed really passionate about their work.
- Why do you think you're a good fit for this role?
- What makes you want to work at Mediabrands?
Finance Analyst
The HR person reached out on LinkedIn for a chat, set a time, but then didn't call. When I followed up, she said she'd call right away, but still no call. I spent two hours prepping and waiting, and then she ghosted my emails. Two weeks later, she called back, saying her calendar was messed up, and wanted to talk then. They were in a rush, so they set up an interview with the Director for the next day. After that, I was supposed to meet the VP, but they didn't tell me he was out that day. I did a third round with another Director and got an offer. I should've seen the red flags earlier, but the office looked cool. Big mistake.
- Can you share some general information about yourself?
- What makes you want to apply for this position?
- What would you say are your greatest strengths and areas for improvement?
Finance Analyst
The process moved pretty quickly between interviews. It started with a phone chat with recruiting, then you went onsite for two interviews back to back with different people, and then for the last interview you met the hiring manager.
- Can you tell me about yourself and your experience?
- Could you share an instance where you were overloaded and describe how you managed it?
