Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at IPG Mediabrands.
Data Analyst
They interviewed experienced professionals without informing them it was a drive. My first interview was at 2 PM and I got the final result by 8 PM. The process was very long and poorly managed, wasting my whole day. Around 35 professionals showed up for just one opening, and it was a waste for everyone because after so many rounds, no one was hired. It was a very disappointing interview process.
- Do you have experience with SQL?
- Can you answer questions about Tableau?
- Are you proficient in Excel?
Data Analyst
The interview process was good, but it felt more aligned with data science than data analytics. It's a great company for those in core data science roles. They asked me about SQL, Power BI, Excel, and some case study-type questions.
- Can you explain the difference between the HAVING and WHERE clauses?
- What is the difference between DELETE, TRUNCATE, and DROP?
Data Analyst
There were 3 rounds in the interview process: Resume Shortlisting, Technical Interview, and HR interview. My resume was shortlisted, and I got a call after a long wait. The interview went well, with mostly basic questions. It's been over three weeks, and I haven't heard back, so the process is quite slow. I asked a friend for a referral.
- Tell me about yourself, including your background, qualifications, degree, and skills.
- What relevant skills do you possess?
- What is your understanding of SQL?
