I first met with the COO to talk about my experience, then I met with the CEO to discuss my experience. After that, I got a take-home assignment that was supposed to take 3 hours but ended up taking way longer to build a mini version of their product. They also asked if I'd fit their startup culture, which involves working late nights and weekends. The third interview was with the engineers, and they asked technical questions, mostly about debugging and my process for it. One engineer's enunciation wasn't great, but it was fine. After that, there was no more communication. It felt like they were looking for someone really experienced but willing to accept low pay.

The interview for the Software Engineer role at Involve.ai was quite frustrating, tbh. A lot of things were unclear. First, they were super vague about how a contract gig turns into a full-time job, making it hard to know about job security and if they're really committed long-term. Also, they expect you to use your own equipment without telling you upfront, which is a pain if you don't have the right stuff and have to buy it. The whole role is contract-based, and they didn't really go over the contract details, so it's unclear what you're signing up for. They also give you this take-home coding test they say takes 3 hours, but it took me way longer, which felt like a bait and switch. And, I saw on LinkedIn that they hire and fire people really fast, which makes me wonder about the company's stability and the work environment. They should be more upfront about the full-time transition, tell you about needing your own gear, explain the contract stuff better, and give a realistic time for the coding test. Overall, it was a pretty meh experience with them, lots of lack of clarity and demands.

First I had a preliminary Zoom interview, then I was given a project to create a PDF-GPT-like system with Langchain, React, and Python. After that, I was invited for an on-site interview in Los Angeles. I did three rounds of interviews but haven't heard back or gotten a response to my follow-ups. It's a bit disappointing how they haven't communicated anything.
