I applied and heard back from a recruiter in about a week for a first chat. It was a basic 'get to know you' call where we talked about my background and some job specifics. I got the go-ahead to the next stage pretty quickly. The second interview was technical, with questions and riddles to check my problem-solving abilities and how I explain my thinking. The final interview was in person with a senior dev and a senior project manager. They asked me questions, and then I got to ask them about the job and company. Their different viewpoints really helped me get a solid grasp of the role, the company vibe, and who I'd be working with. The company felt really professional and set for growth, but still had a friendly feel. Everyone was clear about the role and how it fits into the bigger picture. So, when I got the offer, accepting was a no-brainer, and I'm super happy I did.

Really quick and easy hiring process, with good communication. Took just over a week total. It involved an aptitude test, then a screening video call, a technical interview over video, and finally another video call for the last interview.

I applied on LinkedIn and two weeks later, a project manager reached out. First, I had to do some cognitive aptitude tests which I did right away. The next day, they messaged me asking for my availability for a phone interview. Things got a little messy after that, I gave them my availability right away but had to chase them for a response. The next day, they scheduled a call with me. The phone interview was straightforward. The first part was about my professional background and personal traits, asking about my past roles and responsibilities to gauge my knowledge and working style. The second part had some basic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript questions, mainly focused on HTML and CSS with only one JS question, showing the role isn't very coding intensive. A few days after, I was invited to the final round, which involved an in-person presentation of my favorite project. This was followed by a casual chat about my background and experience, more of a culture fit interview. Again, there was minimal focus on coding and technical skills. A few days later, they indicated they wanted to proceed. However, an offer wasn't immediate because they lack an internal HR department and rely on a committee that meets weekly, making the process very slow. For the next month and a half, I was in touch with my contact person discussing details since I needed relocation. I'd get updates every couple of weeks and had to keep following up, which was quite frustrating given my interest in the company. Eventually, my contact person mentioned they 'lost their leverage' due to the extended discussion period, which was prolonged by the company's own disorganization. While everyone was nice and the interviews were easy, the company's inefficiency and lack of organization were major red flags. Although my situation had unique aspects, a proper HR process should be in place, especially for onboarding.
