First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at inVentiv Health.
Sales Representative
I had a phone screen with a recruiter, then a phone interview with the hiring manager from the company. After that, I had a face-to-face interview with the hiring manager. The hiring manager was great, really easy to talk to and connect with. The interview was very conversational, with no STAR method questions or any tricky questions. I got a call back from both managers the next day. The hiring manager was very positive and understanding. Then, the InVentiv manager called with the job offer details, including pay and negotiation room. I wasn't thrilled with the InVentiv manager's high-pressure tactics to get me to accept the offer because of his deadlines. I wasn't given enough time to think it over properly. I declined the offer. The whole thing took about two weeks.
- Are you prepared to work diligently and feel exhausted daily?
Sales Representative
The interview started with a phone screen, covering standard questions like why I'm looking to change jobs, why this team, and what makes me stand out. I used the FEB method, and it seemed to work because I got invited to an in-person interview in another city. There, I met with my future boss and another manager. I repeated my points from the phone screen and added more detail, answering questions that showed I'm coachable, a team player, and not afraid to speak up. They asked to see my brag book and documented results. Later that day, I had another interview with the regional manager and someone from the parent company. This one was less Q&A and more about discussing my resume. They asked similar questions, like how I define success and how I replicate achievements. They also asked how I define ethical success and to sell them something. They asked for my brag book but I offered documentation. They kept it brief and it felt like a close. I asked for the job in both interviews. An HR person called with a verbal offer while I was waiting for my flight.

Sales Representative
I first had a phone interview with the recruiter, it was pretty thorough, lasting about an hour or more. They asked a lot of questions about my experience and my personality. After I proved I met the minimum qualifications the contract required by the other Pharmaceutical company, they set up an in-person interview. This face-to-face meeting was set up at a location about a 2-hour drive from my home. The manager who interviewed me was a really great guy with a lot of experience in pharmaceutical sales. He asked more in-depth questions about my experience and personality, and we also did a sales simulation.
- Can you do a sales simulation for a product you would plan to sell?
