I was contacted by the HR person at the company about the sales job. I had an initial call with HR, then spoke with the Sales Manager and the Director of Sales. They made me an offer within a week.

I found the Inside Sales Representative opening on Craigslist and applied online. About two days after submitting my application, I received a phone call inviting me for an in-person interview at their Austin, TX office. There's guest parking available, which you might need because the lot can fill up. I went to the second floor, signed in with the receptionist, and waited with other candidates. The recruiter then took us to a small office for what seemed like a group interview where we completed a logic test designed to be confusing but assess problem-solving skills. Afterward, I had individual interviews with two managers, both of whom were former sales reps. They asked me questions about my work, life, and motivation for applying. They frequently reviewed my resume. After the interview, I got a call with a job offer shortly after grabbing lunch. The company provides a week of training, followed by a couple of weeks on the sales floor without a quota. The people there are generally friendly and helpful, and the team environment encourages success among the sales reps.

If you interview well and come across as personable, you will be hired. There aren't many questions, it's more of a personality interview. The interview takes place in a conference room with a panel of call coaches who vote on whether they like you after questioning you. They'll inquire about sales experience, but they'll consider someone with potential (personality) even if they lack experience. They'll hire you regardless of your background, so if you're facing difficulties in that area, this is a good option. There's a basic computer skills test you need to take, but I got to skip it because of my resume.
