Marketing
A recruiter from Invenio Solutions reached out to me based on my resume. After I completed a preliminary phone interview, I was set up for an in-person meeting with the marketing director. This interview focused on behavioral questions and included in-depth details about the role. Overall, the experience felt disengaging, and the interviewers came across as unprofessional, creating a rather toxic atmosphere. I felt judged when I answered questions confidently, and their condescending smiles made me uneasy. Following the interview, I was given an assignment to differentiate between B2B and B2C marketing content, aimed at evaluating my writing skills. I followed up after submitting the assignment but never received a response, which was highly unprofessional.

Customer Success Manager
It started with emailing a recruiter at Invenio, then a quick phone chat. We talked about pay, and it seemed like we were on the same page to move forward. Within a week, I went to the Microsoft campus for an in-person interview in the actual building. I met with two Invenio managers and the Microsoft Team Manager. It was a professional but chill interview. The first part was in a conference room, the second in the cafeteria, each lasting about an hour. They laid out the job really clearly, and the questions they asked made sense for the role, which I appreciated as a good way for both of us to assess the fit. After the interview, I talked to the recruiter on the phone about what happens next; they planned to fill the job within a week. Two days later, the recruiter called to see if I'd accept the salary we'd previously discussed, and once I agreed, the paperwork started. The only snag was the medical paperwork, which was a hassle to send to corporate and took three weeks, even though I was covered right away. Overall, it was a pretty straightforward process, though I've done many interviews with Microsoft over the years.

Inside Sales Representative
I found the Inside Sales Representative opening on Craigslist and applied online. About two days after submitting my application, I received a phone call inviting me for an in-person interview at their Austin, TX office. There's guest parking available, which you might need because the lot can fill up. I went to the second floor, signed in with the receptionist, and waited with other candidates. The recruiter then took us to a small office for what seemed like a group interview where we completed a logic test designed to be confusing but assess problem-solving skills. Afterward, I had individual interviews with two managers, both of whom were former sales reps. They asked me questions about my work, life, and motivation for applying. They frequently reviewed my resume. After the interview, I got a call with a job offer shortly after grabbing lunch. The company provides a week of training, followed by a couple of weeks on the sales floor without a quota. The people there are generally friendly and helpful, and the team environment encourages success among the sales reps.
- What are your career aspirations for the next year?
Inside Territory Manager
The interview process kicked off with a phone screen conducted by an HR representative. Following that, I had an in-person interview with two sales managers and the same HR person. The questions they asked were reasonable and focused on my previous work history and what I aim to achieve in the future. They avoided any strange or irrelevant inquiries.
- Can you discuss your previous professional experience?
