The process took about six weeks. It started with phone screens, followed by Zoom interviews, and then a full day of on-site interviews in Sunnyvale. The on-site day went really well. The next day, the recruiter asked for references, specifically from my current manager. I gave them the references, but then heard nothing for a month. When I followed up the second time, they said they hired someone else. My references said they were never contacted. So, just a heads-up, Intuitive asks for a reference from your current manager before deciding on an offer, then ghosts you. Super unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend interviewing with them.

It started with a phone screen where we talked in detail about my previous projects and some design questions regarding the VLA. After that, there was a second round which consisted of back-to-back interviews, totaling four sessions, covering coding and ML knowledge.

Technical Behavioral Coding Presentation
I interviewed with Intuitive on two occasions for two Software Engineer Positions: 1 in May 2022 that took 3 months and 1 in August 2022 that took 1 month. The first time, the hiring manager reached out to me on LinkedIn and set up a screening interview. I then got moved to a 6-hour on-site technical interview (6 people, 45 minutes each), 30 minute recruiter interview, and a 4-hour on-site behavioral interview (4 people, 45 minutes each). After that, the hiring manager went on vacation so I had to wait 3 weeks for an update. I then found out the hiring manager unexpectedly left the company which delayed the hiring process another 4 weeks. I was ultimately told they went with someone more junior level. The second time, I applied online and interviewed with the recruiter who moved me to the screening interview with the hiring manager. I then did a take-home coding challenge and got moved to a presentation for a panel (around 10 people) and seven 1-on-1 technical/behavioral interviews (45 minutes each). During the last 1-on-1 interview with the hiring manager, I was invited to come on-site for a tour. Before the tour was scheduled, I received an offer from another company and asked the recruiter and hiring manager how soon I can receive an update. The recruiter called me and told me that it will be a while because the higher-ups are still trying to figure out justification to hire for the role. I then called the hiring manager to confirm this and he told me because this is a really specific role so they wanted someone with a specific skillset (so more software and robotics skills).
