Started with a call to the recruiter, and they were really impressed with my communication skills. They sent me some detailed info after the call that laid out the exact timeline for filling the role, including the start date and all the training dates. The hiring manager called me the very next day. I then met with them a week after that.

Super easy, it was the usual setup. First, I talked to the recruiting manager, then to higher management, and finally to the director. Before the last interview with the big bosses, I usually do a ride-along. It's pretty standard for this industry. I got the offer about a week after. Much easier and less of a headache than other med device companies.

So I had a phone screen with the recruiter and that was really good, they seemed genuinely interested in what I had to say. Then I had a call with the hiring managers. That was really bad. They were super skeptical even though I have a lot of achievements. The questions felt like they were trying to catch me in a lie instead of just hearing about my experience. It was really uncomfortable. I think it's important for candidates to know the company too, not just the company choosing the candidate. They kept asking for super specific details about when things happened, like down to the exact date and time. The hiring managers acted like they were better than me and seemed totally bored and disengaged the whole hour I was talking. Honestly, I should have just ended it early. Also, telling a sales candidate that current reps aren't hitting quota isn't exactly motivating, and it reflects poorly on the managers. I'd done some research and heard the company culture is aggressive and micromanaged, and the hiring managers confirmed that. I was hoping the research was wrong. The fact that most reps only stay 1-2 years shows a lot of turnover, so I definitely don't want to work there. I'm glad I didn't get a callback, I would have withdrawn my application anyway. It's their loss because I'm a top sales rep with awards. They couldn't pay me enough to work there.
