HR reached out in November for an initial phone call, but it took a while to schedule. Then I interviewed with a senior designer. HR contacted me again about a second phone interview with a senior designer. After a design challenge, I got an onsite, which was rescheduled three times. They booked me an Airbnb, but the night before, HR cancelled due to a family emergency. The people I met during the onsite weren't very friendly, except for one person, Jess. It felt like they didn't really try to get to know me. About a week later, HR said a decision was made and scheduled a call, but then ghosted me again. My impression is that HR is either overwhelmed or disorganized.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I started with a screener call with HR that took about an hour. Then, they scheduled a phone interview with a senior designer for the next week. The questions up to this point were typical design interview questions like discussing your process, platform experience, and presenting a portfolio project. I was given a design challenge to finish over the weekend. I didn't hear back for two weeks, and when I followed up, they admitted they forgot to respond and that I wasn't a strong fit for the apprentice role. That was fine, but when I asked for feedback on my design challenge, like where it could be improved, I never got a response. It seems like a place I wouldn't want to work.

It was a simple, transparent, and straightforward 3-step process. First, an initial phone screen, then a phone interview with a design team member. Finally, there was a half-day on-site marathon with 4 more company members from different departments like design and management. The recruiter was also very easy-going yet professional throughout the entire process, from interview to offer to the first day.
