Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Interra Information Technologies.
Member of Technical Staff
There were 3 rounds of interviews. The first round was with a senior team member, focusing on DLC/STLC, QA lifecycle, types of testing (Functional, Regression, Smoke, Integration, UAT, etc.), test case design techniques (Boundary value, Equivalence partitioning), bug life cycle & defect tracking tools (like JIRA, Bugzilla), test plan vs test strategy, Agile/Scrum experience, and common QA challenges. The second round was with the Manager. The third round was a final HR call.
- Can you tell me about a project you worked on?
- Can you explain your understanding of DLC/STLC and the QA lifecycle?
- What are the various types of testing you are familiar with, such as Functional, Regression, Smoke, Integration, and UAT?
Software Engineer
The interview experience was pretty straightforward. You'll need a good grasp of Java fundamentals, object-oriented programming principles, data structures and algorithms, database systems, and some newer technologies. Be ready to talk about your past projects and also research the company a bit. Overall, it was a good experience.
- Can you tell me about core subjects like DBMS, DS, OOPS, JAVA, and Python?
- What are the basics of Java?
- Do you understand OOP concepts?
Software Engineer
This role had 3 rounds: a technical one, then a managerial one, and finally an HR one. The first round involved both written and verbal technical questions. The second round was more open, but for me, it was verbal technical questions. Watch out, they might tell you you're selected, but then they'll delay you for 1-4 weeks, saying they're not sure. Worst management ever.
- They asked technical questions about your main programming language, such as reversing a string or checking if a number is prime.
- They also asked questions related to DBMS.
