First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Internet Brands.
QA Lead
First, there was an HR round with general recruiter questions. Then, I had a Hackerrank challenge covering QA Concepts and programming. Following that, there were two technical interviews via Skype with the team lead, focusing on QA and automation tools. The final stage was an in-person interview lasting 4 hours with the Hiring Manager, Project team, and Automation lead, which also included a final HR round. They seemed very impressed. That same evening, the recruiter called to say an offer letter would be released in 2 days. However, after 10 days with no offer, the recruiter maintained contact every couple of days. Finally, on day 10, HR called to withdraw the offer without providing a reason.
- What are your thoughts on general QA concepts?
- Tell me about your experience with Selenium.
- Can you explain your understanding of Java programming concepts?
QA Engineer
I got an email for a phone interview, which was pretty basic. After passing the phone screening, I was sent three assessments: a multiple-choice test, a programming problem, and a case study. It felt like a lot of tedious busy work, and frankly, I don't think it's worth it given the insultingly low pay. I was surprised I didn't get an offer since I completed the assessments without difficulty. It makes you wonder how a company with such high requirements expects top talent to apply when the compensation is so poor. Perhaps that's why they always seem to have job openings.
- Tell me about your past employment history and why you departed from each role. What was the salary in those positions?
- Can you walk me through the projects listed on your resume?
- How would you rate your skill level in the programming languages you've listed on your resume?
QA Engineer
The whole interview process took about 2-3 weeks after the initial recruiter call. There were two HackerRank tests, which were fairly easy if you have a computer science background. After that, there was an onsite interview with three rounds, each lasting an hour, for a total of three hours. The first hour was a written test, similar to the HackerRank tests. The second hour was a face-to-face interview with one of the QA Managers. The final round was a face-to-face interview with the director.
