First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at International SOS.
Security Manager
Applied and was initially rejected via email. However, they reconsidered and scheduled a telephone interview. Following that, a formal in-person interview was arranged two days later at their London office. This interview involved a panel of three: one person present in the room and two others joining via video conference. After the interview, there was a two-week silence. I reached out for feedback on a Friday, and late that afternoon, I received an email stating the vacancy had been put on hold. My reply only led to an "out of office" notification, indicating the HR representative was on a two-week annual leave. I suspect the HR person delayed the bad news until the end of the week before their holiday. I inquired about the likelihood of the vacancy reopening but never received a response. While the company might be great, their HR department's handling of this process left a poor impression.
- Describe your approach to managing a team when stepping into a new role.
Security Manager
I went through 5 interviews in total. I talked with the person who is currently in the role, my reporting manager, the dotted line manager, HR, and the Head of Sales. Each of these was a 1-hour interview. I also had to complete a psychometric test.
- Can you share an instance where you encountered a challenge you couldn't overcome and describe how you handled it?
Security Manager
The interviewers were nice and knew their stuff, asking good questions and answering mine. But, it felt a bit too casual for a company focused on safety and security analysis. They didn't follow up after giving me a vague idea of the next steps.
- Would you be open to relocating to a different country than the one for this job?
